Terms of service
These terms cover the app license, trial, refunds, provider responsibility, fair use, updates, warranty, and liability. The short version: JP is a local meter, not your official provider bill.

Skip to terms sections$12.99 buys a perpetual license to run JP the Cat on one Mac, including free updates for the licensed app line. Additional Macs are $9.99 each. You may move a license to a new Mac by deactivating the old one in Settings, then activating the new Mac with the same key. A refunded, revoked, or invalid license may stop unlocking paid surfaces.
Paid licensing includes a 7-day no-card trial. If you buy and it is not for you, email us within 14 days for a refund. Stripe or a future merchant-of-record flow may be used to complete the refund.
Prices are listed in USD unless checkout says otherwise. The Buy button starts a Stripe-hosted Checkout Session through the JP license API; the browser sends the requested device count and a random checkout-attempt UUID, returning-buyer add-on checkout also sends the existing license key for discounted-rate verification, and the server computes the amount charged. Stripe Tax is currently disabled in production; future checkout sessions may add applicable taxes if exact Stripe registrations or threshold obligations justify enabling it. Stripe may also handle currency conversion, invoices, receipts, and refunds. Do not send card details directly to JP the Cat support.
JP the Cat estimates AI usage and cost from logs on your machine. We work hard to be accurate, but figures are provided as estimates for your convenience and may differ from a provider's official billing. Always treat your provider's invoice as the source of truth.
Do not resell, redistribute, sublicense, rent, host, or share your license key. Do not try to bypass licensing, abuse activation, validation, deactivation, checkout, trial, or update systems, interfere with the website, or use the app in a way that violates the rules of your AI provider or applicable law.
JP the Cat is independent from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, GitHub, Cursor, and every other listed AI provider. Provider names are used only to identify the local usage data the app can interpret or plans to interpret. You are responsible for your provider accounts, invoices, API usage, and provider terms.
We may change features, provider support, pricing for future purchases, website copy, or download availability. Existing paid licenses keep the license rights described at the time of purchase unless an update gives you better terms.
The app and website are provided as-is. We do not promise that every provider file will be parseable, that estimates will match invoices exactly, or that the app will be free of bugs or interruptions.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, JP the Cat's liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app. We are not liable for lost profits, lost data, business interruption, provider charges, or indirect damages.
If these terms change materially, we will update this page. Continuing to use the app or website after an update means you accept the revised terms.
