How the estimate works
The calculator prices the token counts you enter — input, output, and cache reads (cache reads at 0.1× the input rate) — at JP the Cat's bundled per-token rates. It's a quick estimate: it does NOT model the cache-write (5-minute / 1-hour) tiers or the >200K/272K large-context surcharge — the app applies those to your real usage. Your actual cost also depends on your exact cache-hit pattern.

- Is this calculator accurate?
- It uses the same published per-token rates JP prices real usage at, so it is close — but it cannot know your exact cache reuse, which is the biggest swing factor.
