Privacy
Your data stays on your Mac.
The short version: JPtheCat is a local app. It reads usage logs your AI tools already write to your computer and computes everything on-device. We can't see your prompts, your code, or your spend — and we designed it that way on purpose.
What never leaves your Mac
Your prompts, source code, and AI transcripts. Your token history and computed costs. Your API keys and provider credentials. None of it is uploaded, synced, or transmitted anywhere. There is no JPtheCat account.
The only network call we make
When you purchase or activate a license, the app contacts our license server to verify it. That request carries a salted, one-way hash of your device — never the raw hardware ID — plus the license key. It does not include any usage data. Once activated, the app works fully offline.
Analytics
Product analytics are off by default. If we ever add an opt-in diagnostics setting, it will be exactly that — opt-in, clearly described, and excludable. We will never ship hidden trackers.
The website
This marketing site is privacy-respecting. If we enable basic, cookieless visit analytics, we'll say so here.
Questions
Email hello@jpthecat.com and a human (advised by one cat) will answer.
This is a plain-language summary, not legal boilerplate. We'll keep it honest and up to date.
