Usage limits
Grok Bot usage limits explained
Grok Bot reports weekly included usage against your subscription pool. JP shows the official used-percent after an explicit opt-in — never from local chat replicas, because the desktop client does not persist token metering on your Mac.
JP the Cat shows Grok Bot's official used-percent — never a fabricated denominator or a token-based estimate.
Weekly included pool
Under The X Subscription and eligible Cursor plans, Grok Bot draws from the same weekly included-usage pool Cursor reports on its dashboard. The reset boundary and used-percent come from Cursor's GetSandUsageStatus API, not from local files.
How JP reads it
Turn on Grok Bot plan usage in Settings → Live data. JP decrypts the sign-in Grok Bot already saved (Application Support/Grok Bot/sand-secrets.json), sends only that bearer token to api2.cursor.sh about every five minutes, and shows the weekly percentage in the Grok Bot row. No prompts, code, or transcripts leave your Mac. The row stays out of combined dollar totals, alerts, and widgets.
Common questions
- When do Grok Bot limits reset?
- Grok Bot's weekly included pool resets at the UTC time Cursor reports as nextResetTimestampUtc when Grok Bot plan usage is enabled.
- Does JP the Cat track Grok Bot limits?
- Yes — Grok Bot is live today. Weekly included % requires the opt-in Grok Bot plan usage toggle (Settings → Live data); without it JP shows no Grok Bot row rather than inventing a percentage.
